What Customers Say About BELKIN F5D7050 Wireless 802.11g USB Network Adapter:

I bought this wireless adapter very cheaply back when I was in college, at least 6 or 7 years ago and it still works fine. When I upgraded to a new computer with Vista Home Premium I found the experience even better since the adapater had become plug and play and I no longer needed to bother with the tedious belkin software. Granted I've always been in relative proximity to my wireless access points. When I originally used it under XP I wasn't too happy with the belkin software that came with it at times, but once I got it connected it was stable and prety quick. Finally after all these years I am starting to have range issues and I'm wondering if maybe it is because of this adapter and not my router after all. So minus 1 star for that but otherwise you can't beat almost a decade of unfailing service for less than $50.

What more can I say. This product was simple to install and it has done just what I wanted it to do - pick up the signal from my Belkin router upstairs to my computer in the kitchen through two exterior walls of my home. I had to use a USB extension cable since the adapter takes up too much space where it plugs into the computer. This was not enough to jeopardize the 5 star rating, however.

It asked for the Router PIN code (a Belkin Router is what I already had), to load the security password, plugged in the unit and I was on line again to my network. I purchased this locallly for $30 in a desperate need to get back on line after a Windows 7 upgrade snuffed my old D-Link DWL-G122 Net Adapter (which had worked fine in Vista). I downloaded the latest Windows 7 Driver from the Belkin site, ran it from the USB drive I had saved it to on another computer, and followed instructions. That's all there was. So far it has worked fine.

This card is Terrible. Installing, rebooting, reinstalling, dropped connections in a matter of SECONDS.Amazon needs to give an option of ZERO stars because this is JUNK. Belkin should be ashamed of putting their name on this.I would not recommend this to ANYONE, its cheap for a reason.because its JUNK

It also caused my PC to crash periodically. Installation was not a breeze. Support was friendly but there was definitely a language barrier that didn't make things any easier. The connection never dropped on any other devices. I got everything from, "you probably have a virus" to "you need a new wireless router". We did eventually get it to work on my Dell running XP Home ed.

I installed a wireless network card (in the same price range as this) and presto, my computer is humming along quite nicely. I had to call support who recommended I didn't use the Belkin wireless utility. After all the trouble with Belkin, I gave up on it. I would have given this more stars if the only problem was the installation. The big gripe is that it would drop my network connection constantly and sometimes was unable to find my wireless network even though the wireless router was less than 15 feet away in the same room. For the record, I did call support a few times before giving up on it.

They never admitted there was a problem with the device.
